Never a Bother is a campaign launched in 2024 by the California Department of Public Health’s Office of Suicide Prevention to help prevent suicide and self-harm among teens and young adults. The campaign empowers young people to recognize when someone may need support — and reminds them that it’s okay to ask for help themselves. Tell them they can reach out to you for help — always. And you can reach out for help too, whenever you need it. Because you’re never a bother.
As a Multimedia Designer for the Never a Bother campaign, I brought the campaign’s character mascots to life through expressive animation, developing movement and personality that complemented their established visual identities. I incorporated these animations into paid media creative across a variety of digital formats, adapting the characters and campaign messaging into engaging motion assets designed to connect with teen and young adult audiences.
