Project 6: Geometric Dance Party
In this project, student’s were give four pieces of music to select for the audio, and then tasks with creating a composition of shapes “dancing” to the music.
I selected the audio entitled “Black Cabaret” from our music options, because it reminded me of my favorite opening title sequence from the spoofy, pastiche film Down with Love. While inspired by the mood of the Down With Love title sequence, the actual design sequences I created for this project were pulled heavy from Bauhaus art and design.
Reflecting on this project, it was incredibly exciting to take all the animation skills I’ve learned so far and push myself to create a piece of motion design that I wouldn’t have had any idea how to execute a few months prior to registering for this course..
